This very special recording session was done during the band's 2015 South American tour, while in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Yawning Man was invited to record for one evening at the world famous, legendary ION Studios. This session featured guest appearances by Argentenian Tango musicians Sara Ryan on violin, and Adolfo Trepiana on band one on accordion, and Malene Arce on the Mellotron.
An Argentinian newspaper once wrote that the “condensed history of the nations music“ was to be found behind ION’s doors, and they were spot-on with this description. Some of the country’s brightest musical legends, such as Astor Piazzolla have reacted like 'ions' with other musicians, and the energy that was released during this process condensed in the form of numerous classic records; hence, the namesake!
As the largest and most legendary sound studio in Buenos Aires, ION remains one of the most remarkable recording venues in the world. It’s energy is evident in the spontaneous, edgy beauty created by the band in this collaboration of special artists- in a very special place.
This album goes out to all of our good friends (especially ALL who generously donated towards the making of this album on IndieGoGo!), and we thank you all for being so excellent, supportive and loyal. We have given our heart and soul to this recording, and we couldn't have, wouldn't have done it without YOU!!!

Очень красивый инструментальный гитарный альбом с достаточно энергичной, но в тоже время мечтательной, "солнечной" музыкой!!!:kruto:
И да, очень прав Игорь-RAIG - у гитариста сабжа Gary Arce очень узнаваемая, индивидуальная, можно сказать уникальная техника!!!:super:

В общем, все в том же ключе, только не так красиво и гармонично, как на предшествующем альбоме.
Малость однообразно - скорее фоновый вариант.

Другой инкарнацией группы является проект Sort Of Quartet (The)
Sort Of Quartet (The) – Jazz, fusion, and punk collide within the music of the SOQ, a band WAY ahead of their time featuring Gary Arce, Mario Lalli, Larry Lalli, Alfredo Hernandez later replaced by Rob Peterson. The group evolved from the remnants of Yawning Man whose first jams took place in ’86. What started out as stoner rock space jams took a twist when they began playing with odd time signatures and stringing dissonant notes together creating complicated pieces and performing them with an energy equal to hardcore punk. They baffled and astonished audiences with the level of musicianship they brought to the table. They recorded 3 records on the SST label, “Planet Mamon”, “Kiss Me Twice I’m Schizo”, and “Bombas de Amor”. They released a fourth record on German label, Hot Wax Crippled Dick, “Victim A la Mode” which featured Mike Keneally from Frank Zappa. When Peterson went away to school the band drifted off into the musical memories of the desert’s sorted yet inspired past, paving the way for the next Lalli project, Fatso Jetson.

Слушать интересно, в основном из-за доминирования в саунде clarinet,а и trumpet,а !

Тоже не слабые замуты по свободным формам!:gigi:
Мне показалось, что диск победнее по музыкальной фактуре, чем дебютник.
Может из-за того, что здесь поменьше музыкантов и присутствует только саксофон, на котором балуется сам Gary Arce.
Но все равно любопытно :-)

Альбомчик не такой наворотистый, как предыдущие, более традиционный, чутка прифанкованнный. Но мне показался малость скучноватым :-)

Продолжительный альбом, аж 15 телег!!! И в этой своей продолжительности вполне себе отдающий шаманизмом и затягивающий в транс!
Дудок нет, тем не менее воспринял его, может быть, как самую экспериментальную работу этого проекта!:kruto:
