AS LIGHT DIES Информация о группе 1998-2000: As Light Dies was created as a project by a group of people who were intended to work their musical concerns. The fusion of many styles and the pretension of creating a new one were the guidelines of the band. That's why it had an instrumentation to give nuances completely disparate as: clean and distortion guitars, jazzy bass lines, minimalist keyboards, electro-acoustic textures, extreme and progressive batteries; violin to bring folk elements, classic and contemporary works; instruments from different cultures as beck flute, didgeridoo and bouzouki; combining different types of voices. This musical spectrum it is applied to create extreme music. Thus was born the concept of ‘Eclectic Mineral’. Movement art where the band belongs explained forward. 2003: The project was taken seriously. www.aslightdies.tk it was created, and was recorded the first demo ‘The Sinking of Atlantis’. The band starts to play at stage. 2004: It was recorded the second demo during spring (The Painter’s Curse), and the third demo during summer: ‘3 Views of an End: A Trip to Nowhere’. This demo it was promoted by the band and it received very good reviews in the media. As Light Dies played in ‘Anti-Christmass Festival’ and gave out two hundred free CDs of the demo to two hundred people. 2005: During Summer-Autumn ‘As Light Dies’ enters in studio to record their first full album named ‘A Step Through the Reflection’ in ‘Geek Records Studio’. www.aslightdies.com it is created. 2006: The band starts to get contact with labels to release their album. During the spring it is recorded a single named ‘GEA’ which has not been released. The ‘MySpace website’ it is created. After many propositions, ‘As Light Dies’ decides to sign with the Spanish record label ‘Mondongo Canibale’. The band starts to work in the songs of their next release. The ‘Eclectic Mineral’ concept was created. The Eclectic Mineral manifest was written. 2007: At the begging of this year ‘A Step Through the Reflection’ it is released by ‘Mondongo Canibale’. And the reviews all over the world in the Media are really positive (check them forward!). The band starts to be contacted to play in many different places. 2008: During the autumn of ‘As Light Dies’ makes its first European tour playing thirteen dates in five different countries (Spain, France, Switzerland, Netherlands and Belgium). After this, finally ‘As Light Dies’ starts to record its second full length named ‘Ars Subtilior from Within the Cage’ at ‘Geek Records Studio’ included with this dossier. ‘As Light Dies’ changes its logo. The Norwegian artist ‘Bjørn’ makes the artwork of the CD. 2009: As Light Dies finish their recording and give the masters to the Swedish producer and musician ‘Dan Swanö’ (Edge of Sanity, Novembre, Opeth, Katatonia, Theatre of tragedy) who do the mixing and the mastering of the new recording. The band changes some members of the formation 2010: As Light Dies signs with the Russian label "BadMoodMan" which releases "Ars Subtilior from within the cage" in May. Ну благо, тот, кто ждал, ждал всего два года, а не 5 лет, как это порой бывает! По музыке ALD - это экстремальный металл с довольно существенной долей авангарда и прогрессива. Авангардная составляющая определяется партиями скрипки, фортепиано, которые органично вплетаются в общее музыкальное полотно альбома, добавляют напряжения и экспрессии. Ритм-секция здесь представляет собой, как правило, тех-дэт или прог мет, есть приблэкованные партии, что вкупе с симфоническими фрагментами делает их музыку довольно разноплановой, сочетающей в себе множество стилевых окрасок, настроений. Этим мне они напоминают Between The Buried And Me, в том смысле, что сабж представляет собой широко ориентированный металл. Вокалистов на альбоме много, есть такие, чья манера пения напоминает вокалиста Winds Lars'a Eric'a Si. Женский вокал присутствует и он также весьма хорош. Отдельного внимания заслуживают Die Letzte Fuge Vor Der Flucht - захватывающий органный трэк, и симфоническая Sombra Y Silencio - потрясающие по своей красоте песни.
