 Инфа: Attention!!! SEYMINHOL is a name to remember for fans of epic stories concept on symphonic metal music that Rhapsody and Labyrinth are henceforth made references on the subject. But the references shouldn’t confine themselves to these two comparisons because their music is still much more varied. This French band are releasing their first album after some demos and MCD who certainly helped to perfect their playing and to define their sound. Because in spite of the links mentioned above, SEYMINHOL offers, in a way, a music that is a little more personal without creating anything new and are adding sound samples of combats creating an atmosphere around the concept which takes place in the VIII century in medieval Scandinavia. SEYMINHOL also strengthens its concept with some narrations, heavenly female vocals like at the end of « The Call of War » and acoustic passages such as the beginning of the melodramatic « The Funeral » who also contains magnificent choruses. Also listen to the epic chorus on « Under the Blood Red Banner » to convince you of it. Classico-symphonic intros like on « Ode to Eternity » are not pushing too much in complexity in order to not blur the melodic side of their music. The emotions are very well put up front and the song « Sackonungr », classic track with a progressive structure and a balladesque tempo, abounds in it. Note that the cover artwork is very impressive and inside the booklet are other illustrations just as great as well as the story of the concept transcribed in French and in English. The album would have reached an even more grandiloquent status if it would’ve been provided with a production slightly more defined. Nevertheless « Northern Recital » is very impressive for a first self-produced album.
